Kumaşın Elli Tonu

Visual essay — fabric textures, scroll-bound shaders, no chrome.

Kumaşın Elli Tonu — Editorial · Visual Essay

A standalone visual essay built around fabric textures. No nav, no header — just scroll. Each section binds a custom shader to scroll velocity; transitions are a single continuous gesture.

The Problem

Fabric is a material you understand by touch — and screens strip that away. The challenge was to communicate texture, weight, and drape through a browser, without a single interface element getting in the way.

The Solution

A chromeless visual essay: no nav, no header, just scroll. Each section binds a custom WebGL shader to scroll velocity, so the fabric responds to the reader's own pace and the whole piece reads as one continuous gesture.

What I Built

  • →Custom shaders bound to scroll velocity
  • →Fully chromeless layout — no nav, no header
  • →One continuous transition across the whole essay
  • →Lightweight OGL-based WebGL pipeline

Highlights

  • →Scroll-velocity shaders
  • →Chromeless layout
  • →Single continuous transition

Outcome

  • →Showed that texture can carry a narrative on screen without any UI at all
  • →Serves as a reusable foundation for future scroll-driven shader work
